Protect Pacific Herring

November 17, 2025 was the deadline to have input into the draft Integrated Fisheries Management Plan (IFMP) for 2026 issued by Fisheries & Oceans Canada (DFO).

We joined Hereditary Chief Eric Pelkey of the Tsawout First Nation, representing the W̱SÁNEĆ Hereditary Leadership, to deliver his message to the DFO in Vancouver on November 17, 2025. Our message is simple and clear: save the herring to save the Salish Sea ecosystem.

Chief Eric Pelkey addresses the media in front of the Federal Government office of the DFO. November 17, 2025.
