FILMS!
SUNDAY OCTOBER 26, 7:00 PM
HORNBY COMMUNITY HALL
DOORS @ 6:30 PM
Two short films on forests, followed by our feature documentary, Trouble in the Headwaters by Daniel J. Pierce featuring Dr. Younes Alila (UBC). Remote Q&A with the Filmmaker follows this 25min film.
Thanks to our partners at Central Cinema, Conservancy Hornby Island is delighted to present ForestFest Film Night.
Tickets $20
“The film follows Dr. Younes Alila, a professor of forest hydrology at the University of British Columbia, as he investigates the upstream impacts of clear-cut logging in the Kettle River watershed. With compelling field footage and scientific insight, The Narwhal presents a documentary that reveals how loss of forest cover has triggered a cycle of flooding, landslides and drought - transforming the landscape and endangering communities downstream.”
